In a ballot that closed on Thursday 15th August, GMB members voted to accept a pay deal of 8 per cent, backed to 1st January 2024.

In addition, a non-consolidated flat rate payment of £1,300 would also be awarded, with improvements to annual leave and sick pay.

In a ballot that had a 100 per cent turnout, BALPA’s staff overwhelmingly voted to accept the offer.

Perry Phillips, GMB London Region Organiser said:

“This was a great win for our members at BALPA, especially when 100 per cent of our members voted in the ballot.

“It’s a clear indication that BALPA’s GMB members are pleased with what the reps have negotiated with management.

“As employers, it’s important that trade unions set an example of effective and beneficial negotiations to recognise and value the commitment of their workforce, as demonstrated on this occasion by BALPA.”
