NGSF Pay Negotiations 2018

The Joint Trade Unions have had several meetings with the company going back to September to negotiate a new pay deal for implementation in July 2018 when the current agreement expires.

Talks have been wide ranging and we continue to work our way through our claim that we believe is affordable and fair for employees working in a highly profitable company showing ‘strong progress’ in its recent half year results.

As part of negotiations the Company side has provided data on salaries which they believe shows that National Grid overpays against the market and tabled a number of related items, which the Trade Unions have pushed back very strongly.

At this stage the Trade Union side and business are some way apart, however we remain committed to seeking a constructive way forward and to negotiate an offer that we can recommend to members.

Dates have been set for future negotiations, and we will keep you informed of developments.

Please remember that this is the Trade Unions claim, and that members will make the final decision once negotiations have concluded.  Please encourage any colleagues covered by the NGSF who are not members to join a union to have that say and receive the other benefits of union membership.
