GMB professional drivers to protest in Aylesbury on Monday 23 October over reduced income arising from changes to street layout

The damage done to drivers incomes is immense and unless something happens soon we fear the worst for our profession says GMB London

GMB professional drivers will take part in a protest outside Buckinghamshire County Council in Aylesbury on Monday 23 October over lost income arising from changes to the street layout.

Taxi and Private Hire drivers will assemble at 10 am on Monday 23rd October 2017 at the address as follows:

Buckinghamshire County Council

County Hall

Walton Street

Aylesbury

HP20 1UA

Steve Garelick, Branch President of the GMB professional drivers branch, said:

“Drivers have lost a lot of income with the changes to the street layout. This is compounded by motorists ignoring the Taxi bay on Market Square thus stopping drivers from earning a living.

“Drivers incomes are being damaged by a number of factors, it is with a heavy heart that GMB members have chosen to take this action.”

Sakie Awan, lead GMB Taxi member said:

“The damage done to drivers incomes is immense unless something happens soon and councillors help we fear the worst for our profession.”
