A year after the start of the pandemic our nurses and other NHS staff, who have risked their own health and put themselves on the front line, have been kicked in the teeth with a derisory 1% pay offer. A pay cut in real terms. Clapping does not pay their bills. Meanwhile the Tories have wasted millions of pounds of NHS money awarding contracts for PPE and Track and Trace to their mates. Contracts that have never been fulfilled.
With a massive set of local elections in every part of the our Region and the rest of the UK on 6th May now is the time to give the Tories a clear message that we do not trust them with the NHS or with the country’s economic recovery out of the pandemic. Now is the time to start fighting back.
So as well as winning in the workplace we need to win at the ballot box, and 6th May is our chance.
At this event you'll hear from trade union speakers and frontline workers about why NHS staff deserve a proper pay rise and how we can fight for it together.
That is why we'll follow these speeches with an online Labour phone bank where we'll be speaking to voters using the Labour Party's excellent tool - Dialogue.
Using Dialogue means there is no cost to you on your phone bill.
So why not join GMB London Region members and colleagues from other Labour Unions by registering on the link below:
