Dozens of workers employed by Altrad at the Shell Bacton Gas Terminal protested outside the Shell Centre today in a row over pay.

The workers – who have garnered support from local MPs including Jess Asato and Alice Macdonald – have been taking part in rolling strikes since October 2025.

They are asking to be paid the same as their colleagues doing equivalent work across the Bacton site.

John Colquhoun, GMB Senior Organiser, said:

“Our members are bringing their demands to Shell’s door, where they can’t be ignored.

“All they are asking for is fair and equal treatment in the form of pay parity with their colleagues.”
